The weather was good, not too hot and it didn’t rain! And as far as we know they didn’t lose anybody.

Afterwards was the barbecue. Spicy pork sausage, other sausage, and pork slices. All with lashings of mustard, ketchup and, of course, French bread. Then there was the white wine with liquor (for colour?) and afterwards the dancing to old English hits. Terry & June bailed out at this point, mainly because it was very late.

The great thing about these events is that the whole family turns up and we really do enjoy ourselves. It is very like ‘Alo Alo’ and June and I have a good laugh to ourselves at the good-natured, schoolboy-like fun of it all. I suppose it is a little like being part of a very large, village-sized, family occasion. And who could object to that?
