So no visitors. But Terry & June were undaunted and went out for a day in La Rochelle just the same. We ate at the lovely
restaurant (
La Boussole)
that we were going to take our visitors to and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We even toasted Hina’s birthday with a glass of champagne each. We know she would have wanted us to!
La Rochelle is a fully committed tourist town. But it does have some lovely historic buildings and some great (and not-so-great) eating places.
We particularly like the Huguenot connection which you can see in the town square as a paved huguenot cross centred on the statue. This day there was a wedding taking place with typically stylish French people milling around in the square.
Not to mention the new pedal taxies that we have not seen before (main picture above).
Also for the tourists, horse drawn tours... No we resisted the temptation.
Back home,
we have been enjoying the increasingly popular swing seat. And just recently the sunshine too.
